Counting aggressively

Having children is #8...

Realising there is such a thing as aggressive counting - while listening to my 11 y/o playing hide and seek. Terrifying...

Dance-off

Having children is #7...

...being thankful that your six year old demonstrates in the privacy of our own home, that to her, a dance-off means that you should take your clothes off while dancing.

We still cannot explain why she was wearing multiple sets of underwear...

Bathroom rail infrastructure

Having children is #6...

Having to decide whether it's safe to get in and out of the shower without having to dismantle the complex railway infrastructure that is the newest feature of the bathroom floor.

milk lake

Having children is #3

loo-roll

Having children is #2

Always having three separate toilet rolls on the go at any given point in time:

  1. The almost dry one that's usable, if you're careful.
  2. The completely sodden roll that's drying on the radiator because your son has discovered the sink is the best play-thing in the whole house. And now he's strong enough to turn on the taps, no matter how tight they're twisted closed.
  3. The new, pristine dry one up on the high shelf, that's only for visitors.
